It is time to plan for the summer. Before you know it, it will be here. I have begun sending out invitations to the Christian Marketplace Artists, Crafters, Writers Emporium which will be held in Touro Park, Newport Rhode Island on June 9, 2012 from 10 am – 3 pm. Anyone may be a vendor, regardless of whether they are Christian or not. This event is to benefit the Mission to Bangladesh.. The Prospering Christians are going to build and open a music school for one of the churches in Bangladesh. We plan to donate musical instruments for the school and church.

Vendors may purchase a booth to display their works. It is a great opportunity for any Christian book writers who have not been able to find a place to promote their books. We are seeking fifty vendors. Touro Park is located on historic Bellevue Avenue, in walking distance from the mansions. We are asking for a portion of the profits to be donated to this cause.

Both the Prospering Christian and Christian Marketplace are groups which you will find on Facebook. We are groups of Christians who are learning to manage our finances according to the Bible and how to market our businesses. We have been working closely with a couple from Jessore, Bangladesh, Fbiplob and Regina Biswas, who represent the Campus Crusade for Christ. They recently held a student conference on January 1, 2012 with over three hundred students participating.

Bangladesh has its share of problems including flooding which occurs during the monsoon season from June to October 2012. Many homes are destroyed, deaths occur, and food shortages are common during this time. The Prospering Christians are trying to lend support to the area whenever possible. Donations are being accepted at the Prospering Christians> website and the Mission to Bangladesh website.

Martin Luther King day is right around the corner. This is a day where Americans celebrate the accomplishments of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, a civil rights leader in the 1960′s. It is traditionally a day when African-Americans celebrate their freedom from slavery, their right to vote, and to their rights as citizens of the United States. I have designed t-shirts, and gifts for the home to help celebrate this tradition.

Cavanaugh Creations is starting off on the right foot this year to offer you more of a variety of products. Hand-Made of 75% acrylic and 25% Merlino wool, they have the look and feel of cotton. I have been crocheting since I was a child and I enjoy it immensely. It helps me to relax and take my mind off of some of the drama in life! I have such a passion for it! I have crocheted several of theses shawls in various colors. Custom-made in your favorite color or colors, they look nice with spaghetti strap blouses and gowns, or just wear with a pair of jeans.

In recent years, crocheting has gained in popularity. The Egyptians were the first to crochet. They did many intricate forms of knotting and braiding of the hair and some hair stylists still use some of the techniques for today’s fashions and hair styles.

If you want to learn how to crochet, I have a number of videos available on You Tube and I am going to do a tutorial on crocheting this shawl, due to popular demand. I teach chain stitches, single crochet, and double crochet. Made primarily of treble crochets, this shawl is quite a challenge. Semi – precious and precious stone jewelry. There are also pieces which contain artwork designed by children. The jewelry is hand – made in Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. They follow a tradition passed down in their families. The designs originated in the 1700′s and were custom-made for the rulers of the time. Fewer are making he jewelry because of the costs involved.

The gowns are different from those worn in the United States as some show the belly and some are in colors other than white. Some have a headdress and some do not. women in the United States or other countries may choose to wear theses dresses to places other than on the wedding day, such as a cocktail party, dinner party, or some special event. Bangladesh Market

Cavanaugh Creations is offering all of the products on our website toward the funding of a mission trip to Bangladesh and India in December and January 2012. All of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go toward funding the trip. We appreciate your support. We will be working with children and helping students to set up a business.

Bangladesh is a very impoverished area and many of the poor go door-to-door asking for food. The area is affected by landslides and the government has done very little to try to protect the area. The students in India are very creative and we will be helping them to market themselves as well as to teach them English. We are accepting donations at the Prospering Christians website, as well.

Here’s a new site just for kids! It’s called Designing Kids and it is full of activities for children who love art. Kids can upload their art, music videos, writings, and photographs to share with other kids on-line.
